This show was prepared for arts council, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The Director of the council denied the show considering it to be a waste of time. She
said they have kids as visitors and these art works were not appropriate for her
gallery. Singh said," she did not even see my paintings to say such a
statement". Singh was frustrated and wanted to do the show out side the arts
council. Matters became worse before he could even put up the show. Singh
received a letter from the Director that if he was seen in the building it would
be considered trespassing. If he made any attempt to do show she will call the
police on him. Singh was supported by several guy lesbian centers and
associations. But
Singh did not want to make the matter worse and decided not to do art show. His only purpose was to educate community on the controversial subject
matter. Later the Arts council compromised with Singh and gave him a show on centrism.
Frustrated Singh burnt most the drawings and paintings. I
thought this subject was very interesting so I
found some study works in his studio which are show below:
